Description

Rose Cottage is a cottage dating to around 1700, with later 19th-century raising and alterations. It is constructed of colourwashed limestone rubble, with a brick raising, and has a pantile roof, with one gable and a single projecting gable stack. The two-storey, three-bay front features a central planked door with a segmental head. To the left of the door is a Yorkshire sash window with a segmental head, and to the right, a small, single fixed two-light window. The first floor has three bordered sash windows with wooden surrounds, set under the eaves. A single-storey lean-to built of wooden planks extends to the right. The interior includes a chamfered beam with run-out stops, an early 18th-century panelled corner cupboard with semi-circular arched double doors, and a 19th-century leaded cast iron range.
