Description
The Old Parsonage is a former parsonage that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early 18th century and was altered in 1797, with some minor changes made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and brick, featuring stucco dressings, and has a concrete tiled roof with stone kneelers, along with two brick gable stacks and a single ridge stack.
The front of the house is two stories high and has five bays. The entrance is off-center and consists of a six-panelled early 18th-century door with a plain wooden surround, flanked by single plain sash windows. To the left of the entrance is a 20th-century planked door that leads to a 20th-century brick porch with a pent pantile roof. Beyond this porch, there is another plain sash window and a small fixed light. On the first floor, there are five plain sash windows. All the windows are topped with splayed rusticated stucco lintels that have segmental undersides. In the gable to the right, there is an ashlar datestone inscribed "GFR 1797" within an oval panel.
