Description

The property comprises a farmhouse and stable block, dating from the 17th century, with a refronting in the early 19th century. The farmhouse is constructed of squared coursed limestone rubble on its sides, with an ashlar front and dressings, and has a Collyweston slate roof. The left side features a hip, while the right side has a raised stone-coped gable with a single moulded stone ridge and brick wall stacks. The building follows a T-plan, with a four-bay front, and an advanced, separately gabled bay on the right-hand end. The front features a centrally located six-panel door within an ashlar surround, with brackets supporting a narrow moulded hood. To either side of the door are tripartite glazing bar sashes, and on the first floor are two similar windows flanking a glazing bar sash. The windows have slightly advanced plain ashlar surrounds. A two-story service range extends to the rear, with slate and pantile roofs and two brick stacks. A partly blocked four-light cavetto moulded mullion window is also located on the rear. Inside, the farmhouse retains features such as moulded and stopped-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, an inglenook fireplace, and a reset four-centred arched doorway. To the right of the main front is a stable block, dating from the 17th century and altered in the late 18th century. This single-story block has a steeply pitched pantile roof and a three-bay front with a central planked stable door, flanked by single two-light shuttered openings, all with segmental heads.
