Description
Brydon House and the attached boundary wall are located on Church Street in Barrowby. The house dates from the late 18th century and has undergone some alterations in the mid-20th century. It is constructed from coursed squared stone with ashlar and brick dressings. The roof is made of sprocketed glazed pantiles with half-round brick eaves and features two brick ridge stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a three-window range, with a smaller central window flanked by two single 2-light windows. The central entrance is a plastic door, also flanked by two-light windows. The windows are late 20th century glazing bar casements with shutters, and all openings have 18th century stone surrounds and lintels. To the right of the house is a single-storey outbuilding with a pantile roof and a 19th century four-panel door. The attached boundary wall is made of coursed squared stone with half-round brick coping and includes a central gateway.
