Description

Manor House is a farmhouse that possibly dates back to the 16th century, with alterations from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. It is built from coursed rubble limestone, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings. The roof is slate with stone-coped gables that have large finials, and there are two ridges, one gable, one wall stack, and one external wall stack, all of which are moulded. The house has an H-plan layout, although one wing is omitted, and there is a partial moat on the north side of the site.

The south front of the house is two storeys high with a garret and has a stone plinth. It consists of five bays, with the end pair forming projecting gabled wings that have stacks at the ridge junctions. There is a central blocked doorway that now contains a 19th-century glazing bar sash set within an 18th-century moulded stone surround with a raised keystone, flanked by single 19th-century doorways. Above the door, there is another 19th-century glazing bar sash in an 18th-century moulded surround. The matching wings feature 19th-century two-light glazing bar sashes with a stone dividing mullion on the ground floor, and above, there are single windows as central first-floor openings and 17th-century single lights in the garret.

To the right, there is a 17th-century two-storey lean-to extension with a sloping roof; the lower ground floor has a 17th-century single light window, while the mezzanine floor has a two-light window with a stone surround, which has been altered with a later casement window. The north rear front has been significantly altered; it features a two-bay wing on the left that does not project, which has a cavetto mullioned two-light window in the garret and the remains of two similar windows visible below. The projecting wing on the right has a large external stone stack.
