Description
The Old Rectory is a former rectory that has been converted into a house, dating from around 1700, with later alterations and additions from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and bay windows. It has a slate roof with coped stone gables and ball finials. The rear wing, which is from the 18th and 19th centuries, is made of coursed limestone with brick dressings and has a slate roof along with three stone stacks. The structure has an L-shaped plan, with the rear wing being two storeys high and featuring a garret, a plain parapet, and a cornice. The main facade has four bays and includes a central 20th-century porch, flanked by two 19th-century rectangular bay windows, all topped with flat roofs behind the parapet and cornice. The bay windows have tripartite glazing bar sash windows. On the first floor, there are four glazing bar sash windows with splayed stone lintels, with the end windows centrally located above the bay windows. Inside, there are six panelled doors with moulded architraves and fireplace surrounds from the 18th and 19th centuries that have been relocated from other places.
