Description
The Pigeoncote at the Abbey is a 17th-century structure that was altered in the 19th century. It is built from coursed limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings. The roof is made of stone-coped slate and includes a timber flight hole turret topped with a hipped lead roof. The building is two stories high and has a moulded string course. On the gable end, there is a planked doorway with an ashlar lintel, and above it, in an earlier window opening, is another planked door with a cornice over it. There are three flight holes above this door. On the right-hand side wall, there is an original 17th-century opening with an ashlar surround and cornice. Inside, the structure has stone ledges.
