Description
The stables at The Abbey are a late 18th century structure that was altered in the 19th century. They are built from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and feature red brick dressings under a pantile roof. The building is two stories high and has a seven-bay front, which includes three planked stable doors. There are two fixed glazing bar lights and two cast iron ventilators, all of which have segmental brick heads and brick reveals. On the first floor, there are four semi-circular headed openings with cast iron ventilators in the lower panels. This building is included in the listing for its group value.
