Description

This is an archway located approximately 15 metres south of The Old Vicarage on Church Lane in Horbling. It dates from the early 13th century and is constructed of limestone ashlar, with some sections made from limestone and ironstone rubble. The archway features a pointed shape with a double chamfered head. The inner part of the arch is supported by polygonal shafts that have moulded capitals, while the outer part has a continuously chamfered order. There are small sections of rubble walling on each side, and a plain lancet window is present on the east side.
