Description

This building comprises originally three houses, now a house, two shops, and offices, dating from approximately the 1840s and altered in the 20th century. The construction is of coursed squared limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, topped with a hipped Collyweston roof and featuring two ashlar wall stacks and a single ridge stack. The front has three storeys and six bays, with the outer bays slightly projecting. A central open doorway leads to the rear, with double-panelled doors on the left, set within rusticated ashlar surrounds incorporating keyblocks. To the right is a canted bay window with a moulded stone cornice and a half-glazed door with an overlight. The end bays are characterised by shallow rectangular bay windows with three semi-circular headed lights and ashlar pilasters. On the first floor, three plain sash windows are flanked by single semi-circular headed lights, each with plain ashlar surrounds and panelled aprons. The second floor features three smaller plain sash windows with moulded architraves and cill brackets, flanked by single triple windows, also with moulded architraves. The building is included on the list solely for group value.
