Description
This is a late 18th-century building of three storeys, constructed in ashlar. The building has a parapet with three panels and a plinth. It features three windows with double-hung sashes and glazing bars, set within moulded architraves that have triple keystones. At the east end of the front is a panelled door topped with a rectangular fanlight, framed by a matching architrave and set into the wall. To the right of the door, there are three stone steps and a simple curved iron handrail. A good moulded eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. A Sun Fire Insurance plaque from 1802 is affixed to the exterior. The building is part of a wider group, which includes Brazenose College Gate, retaining walls, two barns to the east of number 28, Brazenose School House, and numbers 30 to 33 St Paul’s Street.
