Description
Low Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1700, with 20th-century alterations. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble, some of which has a colourwash finish. The building features slate roofs with stone-coped gables and a prominent central tripartite ridge stack. The farmhouse is designed in an L-plan with a lobby entrance.
It stands two storeys high with a garret and has a three-bay front. The central doorway has a plain doorcase and a partially glazed door, flanked by a single three-light 20th-century casement window with wooden lintels. Above the doorway, there are two three-light 20th-century casements, also with wooden lintels. The east front includes a two-light 20th-century casement with a wooden lintel, another two-light casement above it, and a small two-light casement in the garret, all featuring wooden lintels. The gable windows have been re-set in original mullion window openings. Inside, there are inglenook fireplaces and exposed beams.
