Description
99 High Street is a house dating from the mid-17th century, which was refronted in 1718 and has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features rough cast walls with painted ashlar rusticated quoins and a pantile roof, topped by a single rendered axial ridge stack. It has a lobby entry plan and is two stories tall with a five-bay front that includes a plinth, a first-floor band, and an eaves band. The central entrance consists of a 20th-century door with a plain overlight, flanked by pairs of glazing bar sash windows. The first floor has five similar windows, and all openings have segmental heads. Above the door, there is a datestone inscribed with "PM MDCCXVIII." Inside, the front room features a shield stopped beam, and there are some early 18th-century two-panel doors.
