Description
Beechurst House is a house built in the early 19th century, with later additions in the mid 19th century and 20th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof with overhanging wooden eaves and two gable stacks. The house has two storeys and an attic, with a five-bay front that includes a first-floor band.
Two steps lead up to the central doorway, which has a broad pilastered doorcase, an ornate overlight, and a partially glazed door. This doorway is set beneath an ornate wooden porch that has open tracery and a hipped lead roof. On either side of the doorway are single canted bay windows with tripartite plain sashes and a broad entablature. Above, there are five plain sash windows with segmental heads, and three segmental dormers that contain 20th-century casements.
