Description
The East Lighthouse on the bank of the River Nene is a Grade II* listed building, originally constructed in the early 19th century and later altered in the 20th century. It is made of colourwashed rendered brick and features a rounded lead roof with a single central red brick chimney. The structure stands three storeys tall, topped with an octagonal lantern that is highlighted by a deep moulded brick band.
On the west side, there is a 20th-century lean-to extending from the ground floor, along with single 20th-century casement windows on the first and second floors. The south side has three 20th-century casement windows, while the north side features segmental arched casements on the ground and first floors. Additionally, the north and east sides have 20th-century additions at the ground level. The lantern itself has single circular openings on the northeast and north sides.
