Description

Nos 1, 3, and 5 Albert Street is a terrace of three houses built around 1800, 1820, and the 20th century. The buildings are constructed of red brick, with some stucco, and feature a hipped concrete tiled roof with moulded wooden eaves and three ridge stacks. The terrace is two and a half storeys high and has a six-bay front. No. 1, which is slightly older than the others, has a shallow rendered plinth.

The doorway to No. 1 is located on the left and features a pilastered doorcase with an entablature and cornice, a large decorated overlight, and a partially glazed, panelled door with margin lights. To the left of this doorway, there are double plank doors with an overlight that have been inserted into a former window opening. To the right of No. 1, there is a single glazing bar sash window, followed by a single 20th-century casement window and the doorway to No. 3. The doorway to No. 3 also has a pilastered doorcase with an entablature and cornice, an overlight, and a panelled door, with a single glazing bar sash window beyond it.

Above these doors and windows, there are four glazing bar sashes, with a single 20th-century casement window in the third bay from the right, and five smaller glazing bar sashes above. All window openings feature stucco wedge lintels. The right return wall includes a doorway to No. 5, which has a pilastered doorcase with an entablature and cornice, an overlight with glazing bars, and a panelled door.
