Description

The garden wall, located to the south of Old Place, stands on the site of the former Manor of Sleaford. Approximately 100 feet of the west wall incorporates medieval fragments. The main house itself appears to date from the early to mid-19th century, constructed in a “Gothic” style, with later alterations. It has a rendered front elevation, a Welsh slate roof, and brick stacks. The house has an irregular plan with two arched windows featuring Gothic glazing bars on the main elevation, and one window on the ground floor. A stone plinth is present, along with a shallow stone porch containing a pointed doorway. A rear wing mirrors the style of the main house. Old Place, together with Numbers 1 and 2 (Old Place cottages), form a group.
