Description
Lafford Terrace is a Victorian Italianate building constructed in 1856 by Kirk and Parry. It features a tall central pavilion connected to lower end pavilions. The pavilions rise three storeys, while the links between them are two storeys high. The structure is built from coursed stone with ashlar dressings and has hipped Welsh slate roofs. Round-headed dormers are present on the links, and the building has rusticated quoins and bands at the cills.
The first-floor windows are adorned with moulded stone segmental-headed surrounds that include keystones, while the third-floor windows also have moulded surrounds. The ground floor windows feature plain segmental-headed surrounds with keystones and hung sashes with glazing bars. The doorways have similar architraves, with the end pavilions each showcasing a canted bay on the main elevation at ground level. The central pavilion has a larger doorway with plain columns, accessed by steps, and there are additional doorways in the angles of the end pavilions. Stone stacks are present on the roof.
