Description

Kingston Terrace, comprising numbers 1 to 6, was built in 1857 by Bennison. It is a range of terrace houses constructed in brick, with an ashlar front. The architectural style is Jacobean. The terrace features a central gable and six high gabled dormers. The windows are stone mullioned, with labels, and the ground floor has bay windows. The entrance doors are paired and located under hoods, supported by heavy console brackets. Numbers 3 and 4 are centrally positioned and include strapwork pilasters. A notable feature is the presence of four groups of elaborately patterned chimneys. The roof is slate, with ridge tiles on numbers 1, 2, 5, and 6. A low stone garden wall, punctuated by piers, runs along the front. The terrace forms a group with numbers 43 to 65 (odd) Eastgate.
