Description

Summerdale is a mid-18th century farmhouse located on Mere Hall Lane in Branston. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, and has a pantile ridge roof with stone coped gables featuring moulded kneelers, and two red brick gable stacks. The main block is two storeys and three bays wide, with a decorated brick eaves cornice. A central doorway is accessed via a 20th-century glazed door and wooden lattice gabled porch. Single glazing bar sashes flank the doorway, each with a segmental arch detailed with brick voussoirs and ashlar keystones. Three glazing bar sashes are positioned above, with similar arches. An irregularly fenestrated rear wing adjoins the main block.
