Description

Bertiesinn, originally known as the Bertie Arms, is a house that was originally a public house, dating from the early 18th century. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with painted render and features a pantile ridge roof with a single ridge and a single gable stack. It is one-and-a-half storeys high. The entrance is off-centre and consists of a 20th-century plank door set beneath a wooden lintel. There are three 20th-century casement windows, also under wooden lintels, and above these are two dormers with 20th-century casements. Notably, the inaugural meeting to institute the enclosure of land in Branston took place here in 1765.
