Description

The Old Rectory is a late 18th-century house situated on Church Road in Branston and Mere. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a pantile ridge roof and two brick gable stacks. The main part of the house is two and a half storeys high and three bays wide, featuring a central doorway with a 19th-century glazed door and a wooden porch supported by replaced Doric columns and pilasters, topped by an entablature. Single glazing bar sashes flank the doorway, each set under a segmental stone arch. A lower, two-storey range extends to the rear, incorporating various sliding casements also set within segmental stone arches.
