Description

This is an early 19th century cottage, which was formerly used as a shop. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings. The roof is slate, with one ashlar-coped gable. There are three chimneys – one of brick, one of ashlar with moulded detail, and one ashlar ridge stack. The cottage has flush quoins and a plinth and is two storeys high, with five bays. On the south side, the ground floor has a large, multi-pane shop window, a plank door, a two-light sliding sash window, a 20th century door, and another two-light sliding sash window. Each window opening is topped with a segment-headed ashlar lintel. The first floor has five two-light sliding sash windows, with those above the doorways being slightly narrower.
