Description

The stable block at Blankney Hall was built in 1825 by E J Wilson for Henry Chaplin. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a 20th-century hipped slate roof, along with various white brick stacks. The building has an ashlar plinth, a first-floor band, and a moulded eaves cornice, and it has a quadrangular plan with one and a half storeys.

On the north side, the outer front has a slightly projecting, central archway with a pediment, an impost band, and a keystone, along with 20th-century iron gates topped by a square moulded bellcote. There are five bays on either side of the archway, with single glazing bar sashes in the inner bays, while the remaining bays are blind. Above, there are five small glazing bar sashes on each side.

The south inner front mirrors the north side's archway and features three bays on either side, with a central glazing bar sash flanked by plank doors with glazing bar overlights, and three smaller glazing bar sashes above. The east and west ranges each have four bays, starting with a plank door and a glazing bar overlight, followed by a glazing bar sash, a stable door with a similar overlight, and another similar sash. Above these are four smaller similar sashes.

To the south of the east range, there is a single-storey wing that includes a plank door and a glazing bar sash. This wing continues as the south range, which has two stable doors, two segment-headed carriage arches with double plank doors and plain ashlar surrounds, and a small plank door.
