Description
Nos 21 and 22 Market Place are a pair of buildings likely constructed in the early 20th century, designed in a style reminiscent of the early 18th century on the left side and authentically early 18th century on the right. They feature a steep Welsh slate roof that overhangs at the eaves. The buildings rise three storeys, with the upper two levels made of red brick and four windows that have flat stone arches with keystones. The ground floor, dating from the early 20th century, is finished in painted stone and has an arcaded design above three windows and two doors. A band runs along the first-floor cills. To the south, there is a gate leading to two buildings that share a similar three-bay design as the Market Place elevation, featuring painted lintels with keystones. To the right, there is a building from the early 19th century with brick voussoirs and a Welsh slate roof. The ground floor is consistent across both buildings, displaying seven arcaded bays beneath a cornice that connects to the first-floor cills. Nos 20A, 21, and 22 form a cohesive group.
