Description
The Round House is an estate cottage located on Main Street in Ashby de la Launde, dating from around 1825. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a slate hipped roof with lead ridges, topped by a single central ashlar stack. The building has a hexagonal plan and stands two stories tall.
The southeast entrance front includes double glazed doors leading to a large 20th-century glazed porch, with a two-light sliding sash window above, set under a wooden lintel. The east front features a single three-light ashlar chamfered mullion window, while the southwest front has another three-light ashlar chamfered mullion window, both adorned with Tudor hoods and situated above a two-light 20th-century casement window. The Round House was built as an estate cottage for Bloxholm Hall.
