Description
The Old Vicarage is a former vicarage that has been converted into a house. It dates from the mid-18th century and has been altered in the early 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed squared limestone rubble, with ashlar quoins and dressings. It features slate roofs with raised stone coped gables and a combination of single ashlar and red brick gable stacks. The structure has a T-plan and is two storeys high, plus garrets, with a three-bay front that includes a moulded ashlar eaves course.
The central entrance consists of a 20th-century half-glazed door, which is flanked by single canted bays that contain glazing bar sashes with lead roofs. On the first floor, there are three similar windows. All windows are topped with splayed ashlar lintels that have keyblocks. Inside, the property retains an early 19th-century dogleg staircase with slender vasiform balusters, along with two early 19th-century marble fire surrounds featuring plain pilasters.
