Description

The lodge, gates, and railings to South Rauceby Hall were built in 1877 in the Tudor style, likely designed by William Burn for A. Peacock Wilson. The structure is made of limestone ashlar with slate roofs featuring lead dressings and raised stone coped gables topped with vasiform finials. It has wrought iron elements and includes single, double, and triple funnelled octagonal ashlar ridge stacks with moulded cornices.

The lodge has a single-storey, three-bay front with a moulded cornice, a plain parapet, vasiform finials, and a gable on the left side. The left side features a single canted bay with a pierced balustrade and a cross mullioned window, flanked by single transomed lights. To the right, there is another cross mullioned window and a transomed light. All windows have chamfered surrounds and ovolo moulded mullions. The right side also has a rectangular bay containing a four-light mullioned and transomed window.

The gateway is attached to the lodge and features a pair of wrought iron gates with lyre-shaped panels, flanked by single matching pedestrian gates. These are supported by four rusticated square piers with moulded cornices and ball finials. To the right, a low wall with a plinth supports an eight-bay screen fence with spearhead points, which terminates in square ashlar piers that match the rest of the structure.
