Description
The stables and coach house at Thompson's Bottom Farmhouse, located in Temple Bruer, date from the late 18th century and early 19th century. They are constructed from coursed rubble and brick, featuring pantile roofs, a single gable, and a lateral stack. The building has a brick plinth and brick eaves.
The stable range is 5 bays wide and 1½ stories tall, with a central glazing bar window that has a plank shutter. This window is flanked by single plank doors, with the left door having an overlight and additional glazing bar windows on either side. All openings have segment brick heads that are painted with keystones. Above, there are four shuttered loft openings, with the one on the right now blocked.
To the right, there is a single-storey, 2-bay addition that includes a single plank door and a single glazing bar casement, both with segment brick heads and painted keystones. To the left, there is a 6-bay, 1½-storey, early 19th-century brick carriage house, which has been altered, along with a single bay coursed rubble addition beyond it.
