Description

No. 45 High Street is a house dating from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick and features painted ashlar dressings, a pantile roof with stone coped gables and kneelers, and two gable stacks topped with terracotta pots. The building is two storeys high plus attics and has a three-bay front. The central entrance consists of a 20th-century half-glazed door with an overlight, flanked by single windows. On the first floor, there is a central blank opening flanked by two narrower windows of a similar style. All openings have shaped serpentine lintels with keyblocks. The windows are 20th-century top-hung casements designed to mimic divided sashes when closed. The roof features two dormers with segmental roofs covered in lead.
