Description
The Hollies is a house dating from the mid-18th century, located on the east side of High Street in Brant Broughton and Stragglethorpe. It is constructed of brick and features a pantile hipped roof. The gables are brick coped with kneelers and there are two gable stacks. A brick band runs along the first floor, and the eaves are decorated. The house has three bays and is two storeys high. The central doorway has a moulded frame with brackets that support an open pediment, and it features a panelled door with a fanlight above. On either side of the doorway are single glazing bar sash windows, with three similar sashes above, all having segment heads. The property is enclosed by brick garden walls topped with round brick coping, which lead to tall brick and ashlar gate piers that are capped with ashlar. Iron gates complete the entrance.
