Description
Brant House is a mid-18th century house located on the west side of High Street in Brant Broughton and Stragglethorpe. It is constructed of painted brick with ashlar quoins and a first floor band. The house features a slate hipped roof with lead flashings and has two brick ridge stacks. It is two storeys high plus an attic, with a square plan that measures five bays by two bays.
The east front of the house has a central round-headed doorway, which is framed by a recessed moulded wooden frame, a six-panel door, and an elegant fanlight. This doorway is flanked by two glazing bar sashes with segment heads. Above the doorway, there is a central blank panel, flanked by single glazing bar sashes and single blank panels, all with segment heads. At the top, there are two small glazing bar sash windows in gabled dormers.
