Description

Welbourn House, now divided into two dwellings, was built in the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, and has a pantile roof with ashlar coped gables and three moulded ashlar gable stacks. The house has a deep chamfered plinth and ashlar quoins, forming an L-shaped plan over three storeys.

The east-facing front has an off-centre doorway with a partly glazed six-panel door. To the right of the door are two glazing bar sash windows, and to the left are two closely spaced cross casement windows. Above the doorway is a single cross casement, with two glazing bar sashes to the right and a single cross casement to the left. Above this, over the doorway, is a single cross casement, and to the right are two glazing bar sashes, and to the left are two cross casements. All windows have ashlar wedge lintels with raised keystones.

The south-facing front has an off-centre 19th-century half-glazed door, above which is a tall, narrow six-pane stair window. To the right are two single cross casements, one above the other. To the left is a single cross casement with a wooden lintel, and beyond that a three-light cross casement, above a similar window, and again above a three-light casement. These three windows, and the stair window, all have segment brick heads.
