Description

The Old House is a mid-18th century house located on The Green in Welbourn. It is constructed of coursed rubble with red brick dressings, topped with a pantile roof and features single ridge and two gable brick stacks. The eaves are brick dentilated. The two-storey plus attic house originally had three bays, now with an added two-bay wing to the east. The main façade has a central doorway with a six-panel door, a leaded hood supported by thin iron columns, flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. Above are three glazing bar sashes. The east wing has a single doorway with a plank door, a single wide glazing bar sash window to the east, and two glazing bar sashes above. All windows are topped with segment brick heads. Five large square dormers with glazing bar sashes are set into the roof.
