Description
The north wall of the former Deanery, now part of the Cathedral School at No. 30 Eastgate, dates back to the 14th century, incorporating carved stonework from the 12th and 13th centuries sourced from the cathedral. The wall is constructed from dressed stone. To the east, there is a 10-meter section featuring a string course and chamfered coping. To the west, a taller 30-meter section displays a crenellated parapet and plain tile coping. The north side includes a blocked 13th-century window opening adorned with dogtooth bands, a head, and an ogee-headed doorway with a hoodmould. On the south side, there is a corbelled fireplace with a hood to the east, and to the west, a statuette alongside a section of quatrefoil frieze.
