Description
The Grove is a farmhouse located on Grove Road in Theddlethorpe. It dates from the late 17th century, with a refronting in the mid 18th century, and has undergone 19th-century alterations and a rear addition. The building is constructed of red brick with painted stone dressings and features a concrete tiled roof with raised stone coped gables and two external gable painted brick stacks. It has an L-shaped plan and is two stories high with a three-bay front. The front includes a moulded stone parapet and a 19th-century projecting porch with a flat roof and parapet, which contains a half-glazed panelled door flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. The first floor has three similar windows, all of which feature splayed painted stone lintels. Inside, most fittings are from the 19th century, but there is one simply stopped and chamfered beam on the first floor. The roof structure consists of clasped purlins made of softwood with larch pole rafters.
