Description

Blacksmith's Cottage is a cottage that was originally a smithy, dating from the mid-18th century but with 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of red brick with colour washed return walls and features pantile roofs with a single gable and a single ridge stack. The building is single storey with a garret and has a five-bay front that includes first floor flat bands on the return walls. There are two blocked doorways that alternate with three 20th-century glazing bar casements, all of which have segmental heads. A small 20th-century lean-to is located on the right side, and there is also a 20th-century addition at the rear.
