Description

The Row comprises a terrace of four cottages, dating back to the 16th century, with extensions and alterations in the late 18th and 19th centuries. The cottages are constructed of colourwashed ashlar and brickwork, with a pantile roof and stone-coped gables. One cottage, at the northern end, is a later addition built of tumbled brick. The terrace has two gable and two ridge stacks.

The front elevation is eleven bays wide and features brick dentillated eaves. The two bays on the left have a chamfered stone string course and a short plinth. The left-hand pair of cottages has three planked and single four-panel doors, while the others have doors with segmental brick heads. There are seven glazing bar sashes on the front. The left-hand pair of cottages has moulded stone surrounds to the windows, while the others are simpler. On the first floor, there are four glazing bar sashes to the eaves, and to the left, a pair of 20th-century three-light casements. At the rear of the left-hand cottage is a single three-light moulded stone mullioned window on the first floor. All other windows have been altered.
