Description

Woodman's Cottage is a mid-18th century building, originally marked as Smackdam Cottages on the Ordnance Survey map. It consists of two cottages that have been combined into a single dwelling. The exterior features whitewashed mud and stud construction with a brick plinth on the right side. The roof is hipped and thatched, with the right side extended downwards to form a lean-to. The eaves are sprocketed, and there is a single ridge stack made of red brick. The cottage is single storey and has seven bays. From left to right, there are two glazing bar Yorkshire sashes, a doorway with a plank door, two similar sashes that are widely spaced, another doorway with a door, and a single small glazing bar fixed light.
