WRAGBY MAIN STREET (south side) Surgery Cottage

G.V. II

House, probably warden's house to almshouses. 1840. Stock brick with ashlar dressings. Slate roof with stone coped gables and kneelers and single ridge stack with 2 tall angle shafts. High plinth. 2 storey, 4 bay front with right hand bay projecting slightly with gable. Doorway to left with shallow triangular head, chamfered ashlar surround and panelled door. Doorway flanked by single, 3 light mullion windows. Doorway beyond to right with triangular head, raised keystone and long panelled door. Blocked opening to left with triangular head, raised keystone and small sliding sash inserted. 2 narrow lights with triangular heads each set in gable breaking through roof line above. Pair of narrow lights to right with triangular heads and plain sashes.
