Description

Elusendai is a single-storey block of almshouses, built in 1613, arranged in a square plan around a central courtyard. The structure is made of rubble stone, topped with a slate roof and featuring stone stacks. The south elevation, which faces the road, has a through passage slightly left of the center. This passage features a segmental arch with a faceted keystone, a single order of chamfer, shields in the spandrels, and a hood mould. Above the arch is a stone tablet with raised letters and numerals that read '1613 DH'. The windows are primarily 20th-century small-pane casements. To the left of the passage, there are two 2-light windows and a 3-light window. On the right side, there are three 2-light casements, a boarded door, followed by a 3-light and a 2-light window.

The east elevation has outshuts at the left end and right of center, with two small-pane iron-framed windows between them. Further to the right, there are inserted and replacement windows. The north wall also features outshuts and replacement windows. The west wall includes an outshut at the right end and small-pane casement windows.

Inside the courtyard, the south side has three blocked windows beneath wooden lintels and an inserted door at the left end. The east wall contains a tablet with raised letters and numerals reading 'RB 1613'. To the right of this tablet are small-pane and 2-light iron-framed windows, while to the left is a boarded door with an inserted window and a boarded-up window on its left side, alongside a 3-light iron-framed window on its right side. The north wall has four windows, with boarded doors at the ends featuring brick dressings, and both 3-light and 2-light windows. The right side of this wall is rendered. The west wall displays a tablet inscribed '1937 RHWB' in raised letters and numerals. At the left end, there is a boarded door and two small-pane inserted windows, while the right side features a 3-light small-pane casement window.

The building has not been inspected.
