Description
The Old Rectory is a former rectory, now a house, built in 1853 by S. S. Teulon. It is constructed of red brick with orange red brick bands and lozenges, featuring ashlar dressings and slate roofs, along with red brick wall stacks. The building is two storeys high with an irregular three-bay front. The left bay is advanced and has tumbled gables, while the central bay is slightly advanced and topped with a shouldered and facetted wall stack. The right bay features a two-storey polygonal bay window with a facetted pointed roof.
The central entrance has a planked door set within a four-centred facetted brick arched surround, which is sheltered by a gabled brick porch with a facetted four-centred ashlar outer arch. To the left, there is a canted bay window with cross mullioned lights and a hipped slate roof. The right polygonal bay window also has cross mullioned lights and flush brick lozenge panels. On the first floor, there are two cross mullioned windows with brick relieving arches. The side front includes two three-light and three four-light cross mullioned windows, all featuring brick relieving arches and herringbone tympanum.
