Description

The moat walls at Tattershall Castle date from around 1440 and were restored in the early 20th century. They are constructed of red brick in English bond and feature slightly battered walls with brick coping along the exterior of the polygonal moat. Near the bridge, there is a segmental-headed opening that leads to a flight of steps down to ground level. The walls encircle the entire moat and are designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument No. 2.
