Description

Bridge number 9 is a bridge built around 1805, likely designed by John Rennie. It is constructed of red brick with gritstone coping. The bridge features a single span with an elliptical brick arch, a brick band, and a central panel that is recessed. The end piers have a curved parapet. In the center of the arch, there is a cast iron plate displaying the number in raised letters. This bridge is part of a series of bridges along the Hobhole Drain, which were created by John Rennie during the drainage of the Fens.
