Description
Kelsey House is a house built in the early 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and has a slate roof featuring two gable stacks. The building has a T-plan and is two storeys high with a five-bay front arranged in a 2:1:2 pattern, complete with a plinth and a first-floor band. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with panelled reveals, set within a late 18th-century pedimented doorcase that has fluted Doric pillars and a triglyph frieze. This door is flanked by pairs of glazing bar sash windows. On the first floor, there are five similar windows, all featuring segmental rubbed brick arches. At the rear, there is a two-storey service range built in English bond, which now has three light 20th-century windows under segmental brick arches. The interior retains some original joinery from the period of construction.
