Description
Park Cottages is a building originally comprising three houses, now converted into a single house. It dates from the mid 17th century and was refronted in the 18th century, with further alterations in the early 19th century and the 20th century. The structure is made of red brick, primarily in Flemish bond, and features a pantile roof with stone coped gables and kneelers. It has two brick gable stacks and one ridge stack.
The building is two storeys plus attics, with an irregular five-bay front that includes a first-floor band across the right four bays. The entrance is off-centre, featuring a six-panelled door with an overlight adorned with wrought iron tracery, set within a plain pilastered doorcase topped with a short lead hood. To the left of the door is a single glazing bar sash window, and to the right are three wide glazing bar sashes, all with segmental heads. On the first floor, there are four glazing bar sashes aligned with the eaves.
The facade shows evidence of earlier blocked openings, and the left side retains a 17th-century chamfered plinth, crudely rusticated brick quoins, and a band, above which is the lower part of a blocked central window from the 17th century. This section of brickwork is in English bond.
