Description

No. 61 Turnover Bridge is a canal bridge located on the Ashby de la Zouch Canal, dating from the early 19th century and partly rebuilt. The original structure was likely made of coursed rubble. Currently, part of the arch, parapet, and coping are constructed from stone, while the rest features red and blue brickwork from the rebuilding. This bridge is a turnover bridge with most of its ramps still intact. It is part of a group that includes No. 60 bridge and Snarestone Pumping Station.
