Description

The Thatches is a cottage that may date back to the 17th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill and a steeply pitched thatched roof. The building is a single unit with a gable stack and stands two storeys high. There is a central doorway that is sheltered by a modern thatched timber porch. The ground floor has two new casement windows, and there is a dormer window above. The timber frame includes surviving corner posts and two cross-beams at the eaves level and above the ground floor. Additionally, below the middle rail on the right side of the facade, there are four joist ends that suggest possible jettying.
