Description

This is a massive 19th-century cast iron former lamp standard created by George Smith & Co, Sun Foundry in Glasgow, which features a 20th-century lamp. The lamp standard has a square plinth at the base, from which a round shaft rises, adorned with moulded bands. The base of the shaft, the capital, and the cross arms are decorated with leaf moulding.
