Description

This is a lamp-post located approximately 6 meters north of the north door to the nave of the Church of St Edward, King and Martyr in Castle Donington. It dates from the mid-19th century and is made of cast iron. The lamp-post features an octagonal shaft that stands on a moulded base, adorned with blind tracery panels. It has an octagonal moulded cross bar and a foliated capital, although the lantern is missing. This lamp-post is one of a set of three in the churchyard and is included for its group value.
